Withings unveils more affordable smart scale with body scanning feature, details here

Withings is making its body scanning feature more affordable with the new BodyFit smart scale. This mid-range model offers features similar to the pricier Body Scan model, but for a lower starting price.

Withings BodyFit gives you the Body Scan’s handle design for a lot less money

Withings has long offered a range of excellent smart scales with accurate results, privacy-focused features, and seamless Apple Health integration.

The BodyFit serves as a new mid-tier option that delivers advanced segmental body composition analysis without the clinical-grade price tag.

BodyFit’s standout feature is its integrated retractable handle, similar to the more expensive Withings Body Scan.

The new BodyFit includes eight electrodes with four in the handle and four in the base. These enable a full-spectrum, 6-zone body composition scan.

40+ data points in 20 seconds

By gripping the handle during a weigh-in, the scale uses Bioelectrical Impedance Spectroscopy (BIS) technology across 13 frequencies to precisely measure fat and muscle mass in different segments of your body.

This is especially useful for users monitoring changes in weight who specifically want to track and avoid muscle mass loss.

Withings says its technology has been validated against DEXA scans. It shows up to a 99% correlation for fat mass and 98% for muscle mass. That means you can expect accuracy from each measurement.

Notably, the BodyFit can capture over 40 data points in just 20 seconds. The company says that’s up to three times faster than most other segmental analysis smart scales on the market.

How BodyFit compares to Body Scan

So what are you giving up compared to the $499.95 Body Scan? Both feature the handle design for deep body composition metrics.

The more expensive Body Scan includes additional cardiovascular features. These include a 6-lead ECG and Vascular Age tracking, which take about 90 seconds to measure.

For users who primarily care about detailed body composition tracking rather than advanced cardiac diagnostics, the BodyFit offers the core experience for $220 less.

The scale itself features a slim ITO glass design and a built-in color screen that displays your metrics immediately after a weigh-in.

The Withings BodyFit is available starting today for $279.95.
